As an artist of Romanian / Ukranian ancestry, Jessaii realizes the gift she has been given of writing, recording and performing Roots Reggae Music and honours its Jamaican history; music FOR THE PEOPLE. As a means of maintaining the integrity of the intention of this genre, Jessaii's lyrical foundation is storytelling....the lessons and the blessins,
speaking up about injustice, encouraging the love vibration and listening to one's intuition.
As above so below. As within so without. As with dark, so light. She is honoured to share her music with you, downloaded from Spirit; it is the medicine that guides her and it is part of her purpose to share it with you.
Together, through music, we will find our way back home.

"Let the music be the connection, be redirection; full introspection.
Choosing a new way reflection...and the music be the protection"

Roots Reggae | Neo-Soul | R&B
Ontario born, Saskatchewan raised and.BC grown, Jessaii is a singer, songwriter, lyricist, recording artist, music educator, workshop facilitator, vocal coach and music producer. A mother and a lover of all things creative! Neurodivergent and an artist who lives with multiple disabilities.
Jessaii's music career began in Regina, Saskatchewan as did her connection to Roots Reggae music, attending weekly reggae nights where community would gather regularly for nights of DJ and dancing. However, her love for reggae music was first TRULY ignited in her mid 20’s when she traveled from Saskatchewan with a group of friends to a Burning Spear concert. Amidst a cold Calgary winter night, she felt the FIYAH of Roots Reggae Music and the people who gathered to celebrate it - she was changed forever - that’s where her Spirit felt the most free… Who would have known that she would one day be on stage singing reggae music herself!
It wasn't until about 20 years later that she would find herself nestled in a Vancouver studio surrounded by reggae and dancehall artists, producers, players and songwriters during a pandemic - and that's where Jessaii first emerged - as well as her first single, RISE. She was supported by some of BC's top musicians and creatives who helped her believe that she was capable of pursuing this path - and she will always have deep gratitude for Richard Brown, Matt Reid, Mister Metro, Gavin Youngash and Malcolm Aiken, as well as Ndidi Cascade, Haus Records, LT Irie and TugStar. This is where it all began.
Jessaii is the Owner of QUEEN LEVEL PRODUCTIONS and is currently (and very slowly) developing QUEEN LEVEL RECORDS, offering general arts administrative services and direct artist support but specializing in supporting female identified artists living with disability (seen and unseen) or facing/overcoming major life adversity requiring extra supports. This grew from Jessaii's lived experience having faced consecutive serious physical/cognitive traumas in her life and her decision to turn it into something that helps others rather than allowing it to move her life in a direction that would have taken music from her. She hopes her story might inspire other artists to be resilient, to continue to build toward their dreams despite setbacks or barriers and to focus on creating their art with limited resources, during extremely challenging times. This is her way not only of giving back but also reminding herself that she is capable of continuing to create art herself - it's a form of Alchemy - turning coal into gold and transforming pain into power. MUSIC IS THE MEDICINE. As she sings in her song "Riddim", music is about finding our way back home to the deepest most authentic parts of ourself.
Roots Reggae Music, for Jessaii, is about being authentic and real, and telling her stories as well as telling the stories of others, being a voice to those needing to be heard, those who are vulnerable and those who deserve justice, equality and love. MESSAGE MUSIC. With purpose, she performs original music spanning over 20 years of writing songs; many of them travelling with her throughout many phases and transitions in life. Music is the one thing that has always remained consistent, nourishing, healing and true.
It has truly been a journey for Jessaii over the years, overcoming insurmountable personal injuries that some may never see in the full span of their lives... she has been very good at masking, smiling and pretending...performing through the pain. But now it's time for her to share her story with the world while she invests in doing whatever it takes to continue to spread positivity through her music. MUSIC IS LIFE AND LIFE IS MUSIC
She is grateful to have had the chance to play with many of BC's finest musicians and has finally found the ones who are gonna remain steady as she builds her artistry to the next level! It’s time to build... influenced heavily as well by funk, neo-soul, blues and jazz, Jessaii opens her performance by creating a container of love and collectively with her audience, raises the vibration of the space and closes the show, leaving her listeners with blessings and protection.
JESSAII’S dynamic live band infuses the sweet medicinal sounds of Roots Reggae Music with inspiration drawn as well from jazz, blues, r&b and soul. Performing infectious melodies and inspirational lyrics woven with a blend of audience favourites such as Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley and the Brand New Heavies, she creates a genuine vibe, delighting her audiences with songs that ignite sounds signifying life and love. The lessons and the blessins. Audiences can't help but move their bodies to the riddim and open up their voices during singalongs that literally raise the vibration in real time - magical and time stopping moments. Jessaii's live concerts feel like true community building experiences that leave a lasting imprint on the heart.
